What is it?

The development at Back Forest Road will transform a former council depot into a high-quality residential development, delivering 32 affordable and quality homes for local people in Southport.

The proposed development will provide a mix of family homes and apartments, offering a range of affordable housing options, including affordable rent and opportunities for homeownership.

Local needs

Designed to help meet local housing need, the development will create homes for individuals, couples and families, helping more people access quality, affordable housing within an established residential community.

The proposal will bring a previously developed site back into use, removing disused buildings and creating an attractive new neighbourhood. By making use of a disused site, the development will contribute to local regeneration while increasing the supply of affordable  homes in the area.

Impact

As part of the planning process, Sefton Council will continue to assess the impact of the development on local infrastructure and services to help ensure they can meet demand and support both existing and future residents.
